Hi

I have MS SQL instance on AWS EC2. Can anyone help me know how can I have power BI connect to that SQL instance to get data.

Its not AWS Redshift and we do not intend to invest in Redshift at this point in time. Its a SQL instance on AWS EC2 and I need to pull data & set up auto refresh from that datasource.

Pls help ASAP.

Thanks

Hi,

We are doing similar but connecting to MySQL on AWS. We are using ODBC connections to MySQL on AWS from desktop and also have an Enterprise Gateway set up with the ODBC connections so we can schedule refreshes. Works well apart from some issues with publishing reports with ODBC datasources which we're currently working around while MS investigate.

Hope this helps,

Linda
