topic Power BI support and development for SSAS DirectQuery connections in Developer

Hi,

I would like to know what is Microsoft´s Power BI Team view on further support and development for SSAS DirectQuery connections.

My pain is that many features and new developments that the Power BI team keeps launching don´t support SSAS DirectQuery connections. The most recent example is the new Decomposition Tree chart, which would be very handy for making sense of huge amounts of relations but isn´t supported. Another unsopported feature is the Key Metrics at a glace feature. For which I opened a thread some time ago, just to get frustated again because it isn´t working because it isn´t supported.

In my organization we use SSAS Multidimensional cubes in Power BI to display our main data. It´s not even big data, but enough to need a SSAS modelling technique to have the Power BI reports load smoothly and fast.

Reading this article I am quite sure I am not the only one with this problem, so I woudl like to know what´s the Power BI view and whats the best way to approach the problem.

Thanks
