API support for adding users

Hi Team,

Could you please suggest if there is any API which can be used to add users to the workspace group programattically.

we would like to automate the task of adding users instead of modifying in the portal everytime.

There is Power BI REST API where it is documented that a user can be added to a group.

Although it is noted that you can only add an admin user.

Why this is the case, I don't know.

Hopefully they will extend the functionality so that any type of user can be added through this API, but i don't know when.

I was actually going to raise a thread here asking when/if this functionality is to be added since I am in need of it as well.
