Hi Paul,

As far as I know, we don't need a special environment to call the REST APIs. Firstly we need to get authorization info and then call the APIs. Which part do you have questions?

Power BI REST API - Sharepoint

I want to di deeper into the REST API for Power BI and also Sharepoint file transfer. My scenario is I'm an offsite developer with a domain account to my company that has moved to Office 365 Premium. My development PC 's are not domain joined, but access domain resources through my user account and VPN. Windows 7 and 10 machines.

What is my best path for beginning to automate some of my Power BI service and Sharepoint activities? Specifically updating Power BI Datasets, and transferring data files to sharepoint programmatically. All of my Power BI visuals data lives in Sharepoint.

I appreciate your responses.. there are many "advanced" methods out there, I'm looking to actually understand what each step does.

Thank You

Paul
