I love this but I need a slight variation. I am trying to plot locations in reference to a different set of data points. This meets 90% of my requirements the only difference is I need to select from one set of locations to specify the reference point and the and plot locations from a different set for a certain area around that reference location. Any ideas how to accomplish that, or have you seen this done before.

It seems your solution is very close it looks like I just need a secondary table with locations and then to figure out how to connect the two so when you select the reference point it plots out the surrounding locations from the second larger table.

Hi thanks for the interresting post, but i can´t seen to understand how the maximum distance (km) filter works because there is no relation between any tables.

Thanks for your time

Maybe capturing the current selected value coordinates and suppling them to the analysis? Another cool thing would be calculating in meters, instead of kilometers.

There's probably a much efficient solution but if you can get the polygons for each ZIP/County you can then load the shape in QGIS and calculate their centroids (basically the middle of the polygon). That would result in a specific coordinate for each ZIP code you could use.

You could just multiply the final distance(km) result by 0.621371 and that should give you the result in miles.
