Outdoor Air Quality Dashboard for Sports

This Power BI report provides a comprehensive view of outdoor environmental conditions that affect physical activity, particularly outdoor sports and running. It is designed to help users understand whether the current air and weather conditions are suitable for safe and healthy exercise.

🟢 Environmental Indicators

Each card visual displays a key air quality metric:

PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, O₃, CO, and SO₂.

Each card includes:

A custom tooltip explaining the pollutant, WHO limits, and health effects.
Dynamic color coding that visually indicates the safety level of each value.

🎨 Color Scale for Safety

Each air quality indicator is color-coded based on its proximity to health-based safety thresholds:

As values approach the recommended limits, the color becomes increasingly gray, signaling caution and reduced air quality.
When values exceed those limits, the color shifts to shades of red, indicating potentially harmful or hazardous conditions.

This gradient allows users to quickly assess environmental risk without needing to interpret raw data.

🕒 Scheduled Data Refresh

The dataset is configured to refresh hourly in Power BI Service, ensuring that users always see the most up-to-date environmental data.

Purpose

The goal of this dashboard is to empower athletes, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts with meaningful, real-time insights into the environment they train in. By translating complex environmental data into clear visual cues and explanations, the dashboard helps users make informed decisions about when and how to exercise safely outdoors.
