I have this measure that shows data and the total is correct, but is bringing in data that is not inscope.

Quote Count MTD = TOTALMTD([Quote Count],Headers[Effective Date])

Result:

the total 277 is correct but the 1 values at the top and bottom are not actually inscope.

when filtering for June 2024 the results are correct:

How can I edit the dax to only show the data inscope. When no month is selected i want it to default to current month. When past months are selected I want it to show the past month's data, which is currently working as expected. Issues are with current month. What is causing this?
