Your data gateway is offline or inaccessible

Hello Community,

Need help here,

I'm trying to update automaticly my PBI dashboard, so I installed gateway and made all connexion with all datasets and set up the scheduled refresh (4 times per day).

On the phase test, I noticed that the automatic update works only when my computer is ON.

But when the computer is off, I receive the error message below:

What can I do to make it work even if my computer is off?

You probably installed a Personal Gateway. That only works if your computer is on.

The alternative is to install a Standard/Enterprise gateway on a PC or Virtual Machine that is always on and connected.

On what type of machine did you install it? Your own PC, or a VM or similar that is running 24/7 ?

@lbendlin I intalled on my own PC which cannot be turned 24/7

That won't work. You need to find another machine (preferably a VM?) that is always on.

@lbendlin , I'm trying to install the gateway remotely in a machine that's always on (as you suggested) but during the install I can't connect to the gateway. see below the error:

Have you any idea how I can resolve this error?

I can't speak for your environment but in ours we use proxies. If you do too then you need to configure your gateway settings files accordingly. I can provide the instructions if needed.
