&lt;P&gt;You can enable &lt;FONT face="courier new,courier"&gt;&lt;A href="https://github.com/microsoft/powerbi-visuals-api/blob/main/schema.capabilities.json#L40-L43" target="_self"&gt;suppressDefaultTitle&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; in capabilities to prevent the default title, but it's not&amp;nbsp;&lt;EM&gt;off&lt;/EM&gt; per se. This may be what you're after, though.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Regarding tooltips, you can set the supported types, but not whether they're on or off by default. You might need to &lt;A href="https://github.com/microsoft/powerbi-visuals-api/issues" target="_self"&gt;make a feature request&lt;/A&gt; for this if you need it.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;By default, my custom visual's general formatting settings have the title and tooltip enabled. Is it possible to set both of these settings to false by default when the visual is created/added to the report?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
