&lt;P&gt;The default webpack configuration of powerbi-visuals-tools doesn't expose &lt;FONT face="courier new,courier"&gt;process.env&lt;/FONT&gt;, so if you want to set up something similar, you must create your webpack configuration using the &lt;A href="https://github.com/microsoft/powerbi-visuals-webpack-plugin" target="_self"&gt;powerbi-visuals-webpack-plugin&lt;/A&gt;. In this configuration, you could, for example, use&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://webpack.js.org/plugins/define-plugin/" target="_self"&gt;webpack.DefinePlugin&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;to define an object that passes these values from an appropriate &lt;FONT face="courier new,courier"&gt;.env&lt;/FONT&gt; file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Is there a way to use environment variables inside the custom visual that I can access as&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;process&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;env.&amp;lt;name_of_variable&amp;gt;? &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I'm using React inside the custom visual.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>
