I do have scheduled refreshes and they are running fine for all datasets.

the (huge) problem is the Query operation that all of a sudden raised to unreasnable numbers.

how can i check / understand why these queries running?

where can i see that?

Hi!

It seems that in the last ~2 days we have had a lot of Background operations activity (growing up to ~88%, used to be ~50%).

I looked at the details and I saw ~66K rows, representing queries in the Background operations.

- This is the first time I have seen this number of query rows.

- Me and my team member are the only ones mentioned in the detailed rows... both of us didn't work this weekend at all.

My questions:

1. how can I and my team member send queries while we are not touching the model/computer?

2. what could create this great number of 66K rows?

What is the location of the sharepoint / one drive file i loaded to the workspace?

Hi all!

I created a workspace and loaded the semantic model file from SharePoint (or OneDrive for that matter).

At this point - Where can I see the path/location of the folder and file the semantic model was loaded from?

Thank you Anonymous for the fast response.

I must say that the message written under the "Make discoverable" option is confusing:

"Allow users without access to this semantic model to discover it and request permissions ..."

I believed the goal was to expose the semantic model to all the organization's users.

Following your suggestion -

I added user permission to the semantic model (please see attached):

- when I added "read" permission --> the user didn't see the semantic model in the list.

- when I added "build" permission --> the user saw the semantic model in the list and could crearte a report.

I did the same on 2 different semantic models: one with RLS, and one without RLS.

It behaves the same.

What permission should I grant to allow the user to see the semantic model but prevent the option to build reports?

Promoted semantic model in not shown to users

Hi all!

I promoted my semantic model in the service. 'make discoverable' option is checked (see pic1).

Workspace settings in t

he Tanent are also checked (see pic2).

The users don't have permission to the semantic model - intentionally.

I want the users to be able to see all promoted semantic models regardless of their permission).

The users that don't have permissions - don't see the promoted semantic model (See Pic3).

Why is that?

What am i missing?

We encountered the exact same problem in our PBI desktop file (using the Oct 2023 version).

Please take a look at the attached screenshot.

We tried to choose the "GC" option in the currency filter, and we "stuck" with the "LC" that was chosen many days ago.

The same happens with MTD / YTD...

How can I use user selection in order to filter a table? (Dim table is not connected to the Fact)

Hi All 😊

I have a Dim table that is not connected to the Fact table, as there is no connection that can be established.

In the Dim I have 2 columns => Date + Value.

The user is choosing the Date from a slicer (from the Dim table).

I want that the Fact table will be updated as follows:

If the date in the Fact column is bigger than the user-selected Date,

a specific column in the fact table will be multiplied by the Dim Value.

How can i do this?

Is there an option to go back one or more steps, in the service?

let's say that for example, a user selected 7 different values from a slicer...

by mistake, he pressed the 'clear slicer' button.

is there an option to undo the last action\s on the page?

one step back will allow him to retrieve the selection and not look it up all over again.
