This is driving me crazy! While in edit mode on the web service, I add a page and a table to quickly put together a few details to answer a question / export some data. Every time I click on a column or measure to add it to the table the data pane jumps up for no decernable reason. I then have to scroll back down and try again.

Is anyone else having this problem?

What is odd, is exact table is a copy from another PBIX that does not have this issue. My point is that it seems like it is something unique to the dataset I'm copying it over to, so to create a sample would have to include a bit of everything I suspect.

My expected output is based on every time I research circular dependencies the error message everyone else seems to have shows the 'Table'[Column] for each of the three involved in the circular event. However, mine shows crazy codes...those are not my table or column names. I'm trying to figure out how to translate that nonsense into usable information on where I need to make an adjustment to remove the circular dependency. This is more of a theoretical or general PBI question than how to fix my specific dataset. I could fix it if I knew where to even look.

Thanks for your response and help. I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to publish a report to a different workspace without creating a new dataset. When did this change? This is how we have been running for years, without incident. We have a dedicated workspace for datasets to keep everything organized. We then connect reports to those datasets. With the new layout, workspaces are forced to show all contents by default, so creating a new dataset is an unwanted result.

Perhaps Live Connection is not the right way to accomplish this. How can I set this up, as we have been for years and years?

Not sure when this started happening, but just happened to me this morning. I connected a dataset that is published to the service and what I believe is happening is that it when I publish the report it is creating a new, direct query, dataset that is also published. I don't want this, I want a Live Connectino to the dataset and to not publish another dataset. How can I do this (would prefer not to disable for the entire tenant if possible).

I'm trying to keep out setup as simple as possible, we do all the hard work and provide a very curated experience for our company. We don't have members building their own reports, adding their own data, etc. This new setup with showing datasets and reports together in the same list is quite frustrating and now it is defaulting to DQ when publishing so there will be even more junk in a Workspace. We don't want to move to all Apps. I'd be fine reverting back to the way the service was, I do not like any of the new changes.

The new layout for workspaces is very messy. Why is the new default to show everything in the workspace all in one list and provide filters? Looks terrible to the end user when there are datasets in their workspace. Is there a way to set a default filter or a way to go back to the way it was before with reports and datasets on different pages.

Also, is there a way to turn off queueing up reports in the vertical menu ribbon thing? Again, a messy feature with little positive impact.

Worked really hard on creating a curated experience for all of our end users and now it looks like we made a mess.
