I just saw where the web page of a report could be changed, however don't know how to verbalize that in a phrase correctly. So, here's what I currently have:

Both of these views are from a browser. Would anyone have a solution?

This is something that's happened during an update (idiot testing team) as I have the same report saved to a different patch version and it works just fine.

This is a HUGE complaint I have with Powerbi - and that is how what's available in these previous version pbix files don't display all the time with the current version. For version i.e., 2023.4.1 you get:

And then with my current version, I get this:

Yet if you copy the slicer/visual/etc from the older version to the newer version, you GET the older version and all fumctionality works. This is such horrid programming it's ridiculous.

I want a Line & Stacked clustered column chart, however I don't want duplicates of the data labels AND duplilcates in the Legend.

Here's what I'm getting:

Any ideas or can this even be done? It seems like it would be pretty simple... but no. (at least for now...)

Identify items within a specific timeframe

Hopefully this is the right forum for this question, and that is if anyone would know how to calculate or create a Card that would have a calculation which would determine how many of 'X' events were closed out before End of Year.

Example: 50 tickets were created in 2024. 30 were closed out. No problem so far, however, if 10 of those were not slated to be closed out until after 31 Dec 2024, those need to be eliminated from the equation so the Closed Percentage is accurate/not misleading.

I suck at formulas... sorry.

Back at this problem - that didn't work for me. (and the newest verison of PBI naturally has been changed enough that this follow through isn't available. What I had to do is change the X Axis from continuous to categorical.

Is there a way to only display data in a table that is greater than 0?

I have 31 columns that define a category, and then on the X axis is my mmm/yyyy timeline. There are so many lines on this that it's unusable. I'm thinking if I can only show categories that are >0, it would be more readable.

If I have to write a separate expression for all 31 columns, I'm going to trash this and look for another method.

On this, it really doesn't matter the column. The date column is the x axis as in the graphic. As to align the image with a specific column, I've pasted together this:

I'm trying to count string values from all of the different entries in one column over the course of a time period (determnined by a slicer).

Greetings Gurus!

I'm lost on this one, as before my data source had four separate columns for this data and COUNT worked. Now I'm confronted with one column with multiple entries (20+) from a list: ASSET, COST, QTY, etc. I'm not able to figure out how to get pbi to present that in this format:

Is there a dax expression that would do this? As the field is a string, COUNT, etc doesn't work.

Help help would be awesome, and thank you very much!

Hi Anonymous , i'm trying this now and have d/l'd the example file - thank you. I've seen another report here at the company that has "+" signs that expand that category (if I'm getting the terminology right). Would you know what that is specifically called so that I can look up that function?

amitchandak - this doesn't work for me somehow. I either can get "Brand", or "Category", however not the drop down. Here are the results of two different approaches, the one on the right is the "Category", and the one on the left is the "Brand". Any ideas?

I might not be phrasing this correctly, however I'm trying to figure out how to get a top level identifier (i.e., COM 01-01, COM 02-01, COM 02-02, COM, 30-1, etc) to appear as sole line items:

COM 01-01

COM 02-01

COM 02-02

COM 03-01

And then either have that top level identifier clickable to present:

COM 01-01

COM 01-01-A

COM 01-01-A1

COM 01-01-B

COM 01-01-B1

COM 01-01-C

COM 02-01

COM 02-02

COM 03-01

COM 02-01

COM 02-02

COM 03-01

I'm hoping these can be in a slicer?

Or, click on a top level identifier (e.g. COM 01-01 and have that and the sub identifiers appear in a table below the slicer.

To make it worse, I am horrible in DAX - just a very beginner in PBI.

Thanks if anyone can help or know that this just simple can't be done and I'll move on to see if there's a different approach to what mgmt wants 🙂

This is the same formula I've tried to use. I still get the error:

Days Overdue = DATEDIFF('SNOW_Issues[start date],'SNOW_Issues'[Due date],DAY)

This is well documented on the web, and thank you for answering, I'm just really frustrated as to WHY it's not working. The autofill from the DATEDIFF(... ) does not bring in any of the "SNOW_Issues" table name and subsequent columns, but does populate two measures that are already existing in the table:

So I'm still just very confused. Any ideas??

Subtract Dates to get Overdue in Days

All,

I'm still thrashing over DAX, and how to subtract a [Start Date] from a [Due Date] to get a number of days overdue.

I can't get the DATEDIFF function to work correctly, examples on the web don't work for some reason, and a calculation ended up working however the result was a date which I could not adjust the format to read as a number.

Using the TODAY() funciton didn't work either in a calculation. Can anyone help with this?

Hi @sdhn , see the comment about about the error I get with that equation: The value for 'Created Date' cannot be determined. Either the column doesn't exist, or there is no current row for this column.

Yeah, I don't get that either with my table.

From:

This should not be marked as a solution. In every graph I've checked this alleged option does not exist.
