Advocate Iv-chuncz-msft As a workaround, I uploaded the pbix that I needed to edit, to powerbi.com and I'm able to do what I wanted in the browser editor. My suggestion for Desktop, however, would be to have the installer do the necessary prerequisite checks and hard-stop if it would lead to this kind of error - people could make the choice to install or not install that way!
