Im having this same issue. I did unistall and then reinstalled, same problem. I am going through the Microsoft Store Power bi Desktop. I can't find that much infomation about this error, so if you found a fix that worked for you let me know.

Yes, has happened to 3 of my reports over the last 2 days 😞
Seriously why does this happen!?

This issue has been killing me since updating to the latest version late last week.

I was able to get mine working. I did have to uninstall it. I could not use the one that you install from the MicroSoft store. I had to download it from the powerbi web site. This seemed to work for me
Here is a spot to download previous versions... I did download the last version and when I checked my version it said I was running the newest one

I got this problem too.
The procedure given by JJCrone works for me.
Thank you!

Anonymous Hi! I found the following way out of the situation.
When opening the report, I got the same error. Fortunately, on the C disk in the folder with Power BI there were temporarily saved reports, the earliest two weeks old updates.
Perhaps if someone now faces the same problem, check the reports along this path:
:C\users\user\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store App\TempSaves
Now the report opens without errors!

This happened to me when I copied and pasted a pbi file to a 2nd computer, when the file was still open on the 1st computer. The 2nd computer threw this error when I tried to open the file.
Saved & closed it on the 1st computer, re-dragged it to the 2nd computer, and it opened.
(Not sure if related, but I also only had 2GB free space on the 2nd computer at the time, and also expanded the drive space before successfully opening the file.)
