ArcGIS Maps for Power BI Layers Not Saving

Hi, I'm trying to use the ArcGIS Maps for Power BI visual to develop a map showing different public ArcGIS content layers.  It looks great and could be really helpful, but then if I navigate to another page in my Power BI Desktop report, or close the report after saving and then reopen it the layers I selected are gone.  I'm using the August 2021 version of Power BI desktop (2.96.1061.0).

I've seen this in posts from 2019, but never saw that it was resolved.

Is there a way to get the layers selected to remain and not lose them?  Or, is there another way to use Power BI to map different content like current US wildfires/current active hurricanes/etc.  I'm trying to map these along with properties throughout the US, and it would be helpful to see the potential impacts.  ArcGIS works great for this, but it doesn't save the layering.

Thanks!

Thanks for trying it out.  What I'm finding as I dig into this issue a little more is that some of the layers under the ArcGIS category remain on the visual and are ok.  Seems to be a specific issue to a subset of layers, and I'm not sure why some layers disappear while others stay.  One example of a layer that disappears for me is under ArcGIS if you search for USA Current Wildfires and then select the layer titled USA Current Wildfires by esri_liv...  There are many other layers that disappear as well so it's been challenging to find one that stays and fits the type of layering I'm looking for.

After I select a layer, if I go to the list of layers used in my visual and select the layer options for the ArcGIS one I find that the visuals that stay have options to adjust Labeling and utilize Auto-Refresh in addition to Zoom to layer and Remove.  The layers that disappear only have the option to Zoom to layer and Remove.

I noticed today when I went into a Power BI report that utilizes ArcGIS mapping that the ArcGIS mapping visuals weren't loading.  I ended up recreating them after realizing that the look of the ArcGIS mapping options in the upper left corner of the visual changed.  Looks like the updates to the ArcGIS mapping visual that were released in August 2021 may have been removed, and possibly changed back to how the visual options looked prior to the updates.  See the attached print screen.

There is one less visual button that would allow the user to change the type of map displayed, and the way the ArcGIS layer options display changed as well.  The labeling options for an ArcGIS layer was removed too!
