In both Matrix and Table Visuals please add functionality to vertically align text. This functionality exists in Excel. Two exhibits below. First is current formatting options for The Matrix Visual's header. Note that the vertical alignment option is missing. I would expect 3 vertical alignment options:
- Align Top
- Align Center
- Align Bottom
The second image are the option available in Excel for comparison.

I can't believe this option still doesn't exist in Power BI. As the OP mentioned, you have complete alignment control within the cells in Excel. The same is true for other data visualization tools.
