currently i can't read an older excel file format (.xls) and it isn't easy to convert them to current format (.xlsx) programmatically. I still receive files from vendors that are in the older form...
This is possible today with the Excel connector in Dataflow Gen2. You will be required to use a Gateway as there is a dependency on the ACE driver in order to read xls, xlsb and other files (such as Access database files) that require such driver.
