So few weeks back I had posted a query on the forum (Microsoft Power BI) regarding data modelling: Initial Query.
I will provide a brief overview of the same: Currently I am making use of pbip format wherein I am making certain tweaks (additions of visuals, custom formatting, etc) which was not viable in other formats (pbix: which is one of the default format, pbit: is more of templatization format), so as of now things are working fine, but the issue arises in case of multiple reports. The thing is assume we have 30-50 reports of which 60% refer to the same data model (i.e. same set of tables and columns), so right now for every report the semantic model is encapsulated within the Semantic folder (i.e. model.bim file), so here we are kind of unnecessarily having the same models for the same reports, so here I was exploring is it possible to have a common data model (model.bim) file outside the respective folder structure and then all the reports that have the same model can refer to the same.
If this feature can be integrated in the upcoming updates it will be great, else if we have this kind of concept already please do let me know.
