Scatter Plot Versatility

Please allow for an option on scatter plots to select a non numerical value on the x axis and a numerical value for the y axis. I have data that may fit in a certain x axis label but there may be several different data plots on the y axis for that one x axis label. I would like there to be an ability to do this and show it in a scatter plot.
