The ability to access SAP ECC data using a "BObj Universe" was one of the things that drew us to Power BI. Then we found out that this connector was removed due to licensing issues (so I heard). I think the inability to access ECC data directly is a big shortcoming of PowerBI at least for those of us that would prefer to use PowerBI over the SAP BI tools.
