6 years agoThis is a vital feature when working with timeseries data. It can be inappropriate, misleading, and just flat out wrong to draw a line through blanks/nulls/missing values. The line suggests we know what the value was on a given date with no value, when in fact just the opposite is true - the value is blank/null/missing, there is no value, we know nothing. This can be resolved by using XY scatter, but that has its own limitations (ie no proper date axis, therefore unfriendly bordering on useless for plotting timeseries data). We really need the existing line chart to be improved as follows: 1. Option to plot values as points, lines, or points+lines (ie like excel) 2. When plotting lines, options to control what to do with missing values (interpolate, plot as 0, or don't connect - also like excel).
