Hide Columns in Matrix

It would be great to have the ability to hide certain combinations in a matrix or have the ability to hide null columns.

Example: I have data from two tables, I show total production which is not split by customers, thus would like to hide production column for all customers and only keep supply for them. Naturally production is blank for customers but is not hidden as supply would have data.

  • Totally support this, but for a differnet reason. Suppose you have dimension table of Products with Product Name and ID, and the latter is a very long number or even a GUID. Product Name is NOT unique, but Product ID is. You set up a Drillthrough report page to drill through on Product ID (it being the key on the table). But in order to access that drill through option on a right-click, that column (Product ID) must be part of the table or matrix visual. Adding Product ID to a matrix adds another level of breakdown that would be confusing to the users.

Having the ability to hide a column, but make it available for the drill through action would be very nice.

  • I want this so I can include a Measure column in the Matrix so it can be used in a Visual Calculation. I would then want to hide the original field because it's only purpose would be there for the Visual Calculation. There is no good way to do this without having to create additional measures in the report or semantic model. Please add the ability to hide columns!!!
