I agree. I haven't used DAXStudio, but does it display the value of variables (e.g. other measures) within your formula as you 'step' through (similar to VBA)? If Power BI could do that, AND use the current context of filters (e.g. slicers selected, visuals/visual level filters selected), this would beat any external application.
