Add the ability to Tag Power BI Workspaces and other Power BI artifact such as reports datasets etc.

- jmhagerman5 years agoNew MemberAgree on the tagging request. We are looking for ways to make report fields searchable via the Power BI search box so an end user can more easily find the reports or shared datasets available with specific data. Could be accomplished through searchable tagging on resources or workspaces.

I agree with Jason requirement. We are considering options to capture Metadata tags associated with Workspaces. We have considered using the Workspace description. The free text field will allow us to capture the following examples using the Power BI Rest API, but we would need to parse the information.
Environment Type: Systest, UAT, Production, PoC, Other
Developer Team: Team A, Team B, Team C
Department: Sales, Finance, Management
GitHub Repository: true/false
Target Audience: Sales Rep, Department Managers, Exec
It would be nice though to have the ability to add standard and custom attributes to the Workspace and export these via the API.

I agree that the ability to tag resources within Microsoft Fabric would be extremely useful, particular when considering a charge-back model for a shared Fabric Capacity.
