This request is not about adding an advanced visualization feature.
It is about supporting a fundamental principle of data interpretation.
When a chart displays two Y-axes, users naturally expect that the same value represents the same visual position on the chart.
In particular, a value of zero is universally understood as a common reference point.
Displaying the same value (0) at different heights creates unnecessary cognitive load and increases the risk of visual misinterpretation, especially in executive and operational reporting where decisions are made from chart interpretations.
Aligning the visual position of zero is not a niche requirement.
It is a basic expectation that many users have when reading charts.
Power BI currently offers independent scaling for dual axes, but it does not provide a simple user-controlled option to align the visual position of zero across both axes.
Request:
Please add a user-controlled option such as:
[ ] Independent Axes (current behavior)
[ ] Align Zero Position
This would allow report authors to choose between optimized scaling and zero-position alignment based on their reporting requirements.
The community has raised similar concerns for many years. However, report authors still have no simple way to align the visual position of zero across dual axes without workarounds, custom visuals, or manual scale adjustments.
This is not a request for advanced analytics.
This is a request for a fundamental charting principle:
"Same value, same position."
