I would like to be able to add WMS layers (and ideally other map services) to the maps in PowerBI. Bing is great for a lot of things but there are a ton of WMS servers out there including services companies have spent time and money developing It would be nice to use those custom maps with PowerBI.

- MaxonShAdvocate ISpotfire enables adding multiple layers on maps - data layers, wms layers and more. NOAA offers free wms layers showing hurricane patterns and USGS.gov offers wms layers of seismic activity. These are valuable additions to maps that our users depend upon. They won't give transition from Spotfire to Power Bi until this capability is available in Power BI.

We have published our own base map as WMTS (Web mapping tile service) or WMS and would like to use it as a base map rather than any of the default ones provided by Power BI. We use it for our own mapping applications for our requirements and have several clients requesting such plug in with Power BI, if they can use it with in Power BI and start visualizing and analysing your data spatially to make smarter decisions. Unfortunately this Plug in or integration not available with Power BI.
