This problem becomes obvious when you need to implement a conditional report layout based on data/user preferences (not talking about self-service). Right now you either have to create multiple pages with different layouts or create multiple visuals with different coordinates and hide/show them using bookmarks. Both of these bloat the layout file size. Including coordinates (visual location) in the bookmark definition would be more optimal in my opinion.
