WTD, MTD, YTD Calculated Fields

I have recently started using Power Bi Paginated Reports.  I'm working on a report where I want to show all my completions per a given day based on the Parameters selected, then look at Month To Date and Year To Date.  See the picture below.  The table is groped by the category, then I distinct count the jobs per day.  I added the 2 columns at the right MTD and YTD.  Tose columns should Distinct count the jobs for the entire month and year.  I tried to do this through a calculated field, expressions and variables but get the same result every time that I can nt aggregate based on a distinct count.  How would I approach filling in MTD and YTD?
