Report server URL to Page or Bookmark

Hi,

Is it possible to directly link to a page or bookmark when using a Power BI Report server?

My base URL is something like:
https://reportportal.com/reports/powerbi/foldername/dashboardname

I have tried hyperlink parameters like ?pageName or ?bookmarkId but none of them seem to work.
I suspect those only work for Power BI Service.... Any idea how I get this to work on Report Server?

    Hi LasseVanLaar,

    You are right that the documented ?pageName / ?bookmarkGuid deep links are a Power BI service feature; I have not seen them documented for Report Server. Two things worth trying, and the workaround I fall back on:

    1. Use the internal page name, not the display name. Pages have an internal ID (for example ReportSection3f2a... or a short GUID in PBIR files). If you test a page parameter at all, test it with that value. You can find it by opening the .pbix as a zip (Report/Layout or the definition/pages folder) or from the URL when the same report is opened in the Service:

    https://reportportal.com/reports/powerbi/foldername/dashboardname?pageName=ReportSection3f2a1b

    If it does not change the page on your build, that confirms it is not supported there.

    2. Workaround that always works on Report Server: save the report with the page you want as the opening page (the page that is active when you save becomes the landing page), and use buttons with page navigation or bookmarks inside the report for the rest. If different audiences need different starting pages, a small copy of the report per entry point (sharing the same queries) is clunky but reliable.

    So my overall approach would be:

    Test ?pageName with the internal page ID on your RS build
    -> Not supported: set the landing page by saving on it
    -> In-report navigation buttons/bookmarks for everything else
    -> Separate report copies only for truly different entry points
