Publish dashboard to intranet

Dear All,

 

I'm working a dashboard and would like to share inside the intranet, knowing that to do so need to setup PBIRS but after i have setup PBIRS i found that it still need to publish to Powerbi.com for embed and create a HTTP link...I don't understand i can publish the dashboard direct to Powerbi.com through Power Bi desktop than embed to web, why I need to use the PBIRS? or My steps was incorrect? 

 

Furthermore after I pasted the link into web, user from intranet need to login to Microsoft so as to view the dashboard...anyway to solve the issue? I perfer anyone who can access the intranet can view the dashboard.

    There are two different ways to publish dashboards:

    1. Running Power BI Report Server (on prem) and using the correct version of Power BI Desktop as described above. You have to license a Sql Server Enterprise Edition with Software Assurance.

    2. Publish the dasboard to Power BI Service (in the web) (all users need a license)

     

    The third method is to copy the pbix-File to the intranet and every user needs to install Power BI Desktop. This is a free license.

    Hi, jojoreturn 

    You need to use Power BI Desktop Report Server version

     

    And then click the upper left corner of the file, select the Save AS method for Report Server

    Select OK. Then you can go to Report Server web portal to check your report

      Dear Yongkang,

       

      I have completed the steps you mention, the problems i encountered were:

      1. How to share the report at intranet webpage after I do all the task;

      2. I learnt that it required to puhlish to Powerbi.com to embed the link, but i don't understand what's the different for me to embed from PBIRS / PBI desktop;

      3. After I post the link in the webpage, colleagues click on the link was ask to login Power BI but they don't have the account...so is my steps wrong or what should i do...

       

      Please help.
