Power BI Report update sharepoint

Hello, 

 

We already have a report published in Power Bi. 

We improved the report and saved it under the same name on our sharepoint (onedrive). The old report was archived. 

 

Now we want the report dataset to be updatet with the new report (which has the same name) in power Bi. 

How does this work?

We dont want to delete the whole report in Power Bi and then upload it again. 

We want to just update the already excisted report with the new file on our sharepoint.

    Can't do that.  This will create a new GUID.

     

    Instead of refreshing from the sharepoint open the PBIX in Power BI Desktop and then publish to the workspace from there.  That will allow you to re-use the GUID based on the file name alone.
