Migrating report from SSAS Cube to azure synapse

I'm fairly new to cloud as well as to the power BI. Was trying to understand which steps do i need to make in order to migrate reports from SSAS cube (all data for the reports is on-prem) to azure synapse. My guess is that my company wants me to do it though dedicated pipelines. Does it mean that after I send it from dev to test environment though the pipeline I need to change my source connection to azure one?
 Thank you in advance

  • Hi Kolyckaa ,

Based on your description, this seems to be feasible. Refer to the following process for the specific relocation.

Note that the Azure VM deployment with SSAS running in the Azure region of the Power BI tenant is required. And the SSAS VM needs to be added to the organization's Active Directory environment, etc. before moving SSAS to Azure VM.

For more details, you can read related blog as below.

If the problem is still not resolved, please point it out. Looking forward to your feedback.
