Live data confusion

Hi,

 

I see that the August preview supports non-SSAS data sources but not for DirectQuery. So I assume that the only way to get live data is to use SSAS. My question is: can we connect to SSAS Tabluar and have SSAS setup for DirectQuery and thus get live data into Power BI Reporting Services reports?

    Yep you can do this, standalone SSAS supports DirectQuery so querying against these models will get you your live data. As of now DirectQuery is just not supported on embedded models.
