license key preview version

While upgrading our power bi report server to the latest version (preview), we noticed we are not able to enter our license key again and the only option is to select the evaluation key. Is this on purpose?

    Yes, the August release is a preview and not meant (yet) to be run in production. A preview release can only be run as evaluation edition which expires after 180days and does not need a license key.

      Any idea when the Aug release will be available as a Production release ?

    Hi,

     

    We have instlled Power BI report server Oct 2017 version in our system. At the time of installation we had selected evaluation copy which is for 180 days. Now we have received the license keys to activiate power BI report server. Please suggest how we can enter license key after power BI report server installation completed. Thanks

      Go into your Control Panel -> Programs and Features and look for the Report Server, righ click on it and select Uninstall/Change. You should see a setup dialog come up that has an option to upgrade edition, from there you should be able to enter you license key.
