How to fix a problem with server connection
A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running
This error means that Power BI Report Server cannot connect to the specified data source. This is usually caused by one of the following issues.
- as the error states the server or the database service on the server may not be running
- there is a typo in the connection details
- there is a networking issue preventing Power BI Report Server from connecting to the data source
This is probably something that you will need assistance from your IT department to resolve
