Daily count against date

Hi, I have a source table that has tickets created against creation dates, I have created a date table with all distinct dates. Now I want to create a measure that gives me total ticket counts again...

That sounds like the relationship between the tickets table and the date table is missing or not setup correctly. Please take a look. There should be a valid relationshp between those two tables for your measure to work.
