Bug - New Card visual in 202601 PBIRS (Updated)

Dear MS,

 

    here is the change log: Change log for Power BI Report Server - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

    i have tried the latest version of PBIRS, but there is still a bug on New Card visual.

 

    bugs:

    1. can not show the category column.

    2. can not apply any style i have set in format pane.

 

    when i open the report which has New Card visual, the DevTool shows 3 errors:  (i don't know whether these errors are related to the New Card visual)

1. GET https://testmachine.aaaa.com/powerbi/libs/scripts/stylelibrary.js net::ERR_ABORTED 404 (Not Found)

2. Refused to execute script from 'https://testmachine.aaaa.com/powerbi/libs/scripts/stylelibrary.js' because its MIME type ('') is not executable, and strict MIME type checking is enabled.

3. ERROR NullInjectorError: R3InjectorError(y)[InjectionToken CopilotCapabilityService -> InjectionToken AgentMetadataService -> InjectionToken PBICopilotProxy -> InjectionToken PBICopilotProxy]         reportServerHostModern.js:158

 

 

btw, i have confirmed that the bug of button slicer is fixed.

    Hi Vanchy_Liao,

    Thanks for confirming you are on January 2026 PBIRS version. Since you are still facing the issue with New Card visual category not showing and formatting not applying, it could be due to feature limitation in PBIRS. Some new visuals do not have full support in Report Server like Power BI Service, even if we are on latest version.

    Regarding the DevTools errors, the stylelibrary.js 404 error usually means some file is not loading properly from the server. This can happen if installation or upgrade was not completed properly. I suggest once try clearing browser cache or open in InPrivate mode and also restart the PBIRS service. If possible, you can reinstall PBIRS again to make sure all files are correctly installed.

    Also please check whether the same report works fine in Power BI Desktop Report Server version. Try creating one new simple report with only New Card visual and test. If you are still facing any errors, please reach out here. We will help you better.
