WEB Data Source (CSV) refuses to refresh and asks for Personal Gateway (?)

Hello Guys!

 

To test this issue I prepared a really simple Dataset that contains only a small table (CSV) as a Web source (http).

Everything is fine on Power BI Desktop, but the Power BI Service is showing me the following error message if I try to Refresh it:

This is very odd cause I don't have any data gateway set up... and the source is the WEB.

 

 

Do you guys need any other info?

    Hi arthurcruz

     

    What the message is telling you is correct.

     

    You need to install the Power BI Personal Gateway in order for your Web Source to refresh. This is a requirement in order for it to refresh.


    Without a Gateway either Personal or On-Premise the data will not be able to be refreshed via the Power BI Service.

      Thanks for the link, as I use PowerBI for a very long time I didn't notice rules changing since November 2016 update:

       

       

      As I've never installed this Gateway I'll do some experimentations tonight =)
