Usage Metrics & Subscribed Reports

Hi - Trying to get a definitive answer as to whether users that have set up a subscription to a report will count towards the usage stats on Usage Metrics Report - does anyone know for sure?

Does it make a difference if the user opens the email and or clicks on the 'Go To Report' link? Our subscriptions come with a snapshot of the report which is often enough for a quick glance but does this count as a View ?

    Hi PBI_Inquisitor ,

Simply adding subscribers to a report and users simply viewing the snapshot in the email (without clicking on the link and opening the report) are not counted as usage.

However, when a user selects a link to a report, it is credited to the usage.

  • Hi Anonymous

Thanks for your reply - not sure this is the correct answer though.

Over the last week I have tested this by subscribing to one of my reports daily - I havent clicked on anything in the emails and some I have not even opened but the usage stats are recorded for me!

So I think I have my answer but I am far from confident about it.

    Regards, Phil
