Impactful Individualtrying to add pipeline using on prem sql server - getting azure sql error instead

The state may be disabled because you are using 3000.202.13 Version of the gateway,
You need an on-premises data gateway version 3000.214.2 or higher to support Fabric pipelines.

Impactful Individuali see this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/sql-server and wonder if it holds the key. It seems it shouldnt be necessary though because this gateway already contains a connection to this on prem server and db. and i'm not sure if the machine they are talking about is the dql server itself or something else.
