Trigger stored procedure with dynamic parameter from dashboard input

Hello Guys

 

Is there a way to trigger stored procedures with a dynamic parameter that are entered by the user in the dashboard?

The data should be updated in real time on the dashboard.

The parameters come from a table in the DB and should trigger the stored procedure when selected. Of course, the end user should be able to access them via Power BI Service.

    Hi joelsennhauser ,

    I think you can take advantage of the Power BI integration with Dynamic M Query Parameters.
    First you can create parameters in Power Query, for dynamic M query parameters you can check this document: Dynamic M query parameters in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

    After defining the parameters, bind them to the e.g. slicer on the Power BI report. This binding allows end users to dynamically select parameter values directly from the dashboard. The selected values can then be passed to the stored procedure.
    To call a stored procedure with dynamically selected parameters, you need to reference those parameters in the M query.

    Thanks for the input.


    It works well in Power BI desktop.
    but when this is published to Power BI service, it is not.
    any suggestions ?
