The credentials provided for the Snowflake source are invalid

Hi,

My Power BI Service scheduled refresh suddenly started failing with this error:

The credentials provided for the Snowflake source are invalid.

The connection was working fine before, and the credentials have not changed. I can still log in to Snowflake directly using the same account and password.

I tried re-entering the Snowflake credentials and creating a new Snowflake connection in Power BI Service. I also verified that the gateway and other SQL connections are working properly. Power BI still shows invalid credentials for Snowflake.

Snowflake server: ---.west-europe.azure.snowflakecomputing.com

Warehouse: WH_XS83

Authentication: Snowflake username/password

I also ran SELECT LOWER(CURRENT_ACCOUNT()); in Snowflake, and it returns the same account name that I am currently using in the Power BI Service server address.

Has anyone experienced this recently or have any idea what else I should check?

Thanks

  • Hi Reethu5

I would recommend chatting to your Snowflake DBA or your Snowflake administrator to see if they have made any changes with regards to the connectivity settings or with the new key pair authentication.
