Teams message - subscribe now to get regular report updates
I've gotten some Teams notifications from Power BI which says "Subscribe now to get regular report updates". If my coworkers are getting these too they are going to be confused. Is it possible to turn this of for reports and data sets for which I am the owner of? Thanks

Hi TKITS_5190 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.Teams messages prompting users to "Subscribe now to get regular report updates" can definitely be confusing, especially if your coworkers aren’t familiar with what they mean.
This message is part of how Power BI integrates with Microsoft Teams. It’s basically just trying to be helpful by suggesting that users subscribe to reports they access often. You’ll usually see it when:
- Someone shares a report in a Teams chat or channel
- A user opens a Power BI report within Teams
- Power BI sees repeated access and suggests setting up a subscription

Here’s what an admin can do:
- Go to the Power BI Admin Portal
- Under Tenant Settings, look for:
- "Email Subscriptions" – this can be turned off completely or limited to certain security groups
- "Power BI service integration with Microsoft Teams" – this controls Teams-based notifications

Admin Portal Integration SettingsIf disabling the message globally isn't the right fit for your org, here are a few ideas that might help:
- Use security groups to limit who can receive subscriptions
- Apply sensitivity labels to keep reports more locked down
- Be mindful of where reports are shared in Teams - sharing broadly can trigger those prompts more often

If you're still facing confusion, it might be worth adding a quick note inside the report itself (like in a card visual) to let other people know it’s just a standard Power BI feature and no action needed unless they want updates.
If the response has addressed your query, please Accept it as a solution and give a 'Kudos' so other members can easily find it.Best Regards,

You cannot turn off the “Subscribe now to get regular report updates” message for reports you own.
Admins can manage it via Power BI Admin Portal > Tenant settings. meaning it affects all reports and all users, not just specific reports or datasets.

Thank you very much for the deailed information. It would be great if MS could think about a feature where report and data model owners could switch off this function for the readers of the reports / data models.

Yeah, this is super annoying. Why add a "feature" like this, without giving organisations a way to opt out?
I dont want to disable all teams intergrations and notifications. I also dont want get these messages. Apparently, this is impossible now.
I was going to say that I expect better from MS, but honestly, I dont think I do anymore. Its hilarious that their suggested solution is to just not share the reports as much. - rbartles111213

6 notifications at 2:37am "Get updates by subscribing to reports" = Not good.
We get enough spam in our lives. This should be a one time open up teams get a once notification overall for a user and maybe remind them once a quarter or soemthing. I am getting them daily now.

I completely agree that this is annoying! Even when I publish a report to my own personal workspace, I immediately get a notification that I can subscripe to the report. Please disable these notifications immediately.

I am also experiencing this issue. I have received up to 5 notifications in a day, many of which are from the same report. This can't be intended behavior, right?
