Synchronization between Desktop and Service

Hi,

 

I can create Datasets, Reports and Dashboards in PBI Service as well as PBI Desktop.

I hava also published my reports from my desktop and viewed them in PBI Service, but when I create any report in Service,it does not get reflected in my PBI Desktop.
How shall I do it?

      Hi,

      Please enlighten me, because if I understand it properly then I will be able to use it's capabilities efficiently.

    Hi, power bi doesn't work like that. I think the way you may proceed is to create one power bi desktop file to manage datasets/models. Then you can create new Reports on Power Bi Service. If you need new metrics or models you should add them in the first model that have a power bi desktop file and re-publish.

     

    Another way to proceed in case you are not duplicating datasets is to make two power bi desktop files.
