    Hi db042190, 

     

    When checked into Git, Fabric uses the PBIP Power BI format, which stores everything as text so that it can be tracked in Git version control. 

     

    If you have a pbix file open in desktop, and you save it as a Power BI Project (PBIP) file, you will see the same file structure that you see in Git.

thx amy, so if in an emergency i need to recover the pbip structure into a ws or even the desktop, what steps would i take?  after all that seems to be one of the purposes of version control.
