Sharing report built on a shared dataset
Hello all,
I have created a dataset and shared it with other users who used it to build reports.
Now when those users share their reports, the report viewers get the error that they have to have access to the underlying dataset. When I grant the report viewer access to the underlying dataset, they can view the report.
Is there a way to implicitly/automatically grant access to the underlying shared dataset when sharing a report build on that shared dataset?
Hi. I don't think there is. You need to share at least view permission to the dataset for the users that will view reports created in a different workspace by other people. That's how PowerBi works. You need permission to a dataset to view the reports created with it.
