Sharing data sets to groups

We are looking for a way to share data sets so other groups within our org can create their own reports/dashboards with the data.

Sharing content packs with datasets/reports/dashbaords seems to only grant read only rights to groups.

bhill Have you looked into Power BI Templates? Noted in this blog post (second half)

Thanks. I guess all we can do is wait.

bhill If you've got content pack shared with dataset/report/dashboard (either to specific group or whole organisation) they can take that content pack but can't edit it. But if users make a copy of it so Get content pack -> Make of copy of content pack contents -> and that lets them edit those reports / dashboards or create new one.

But will the copy of the copy of data set update when the original one gets update?

        Hi bhill,

The copy of the dataset will update when the original one gets update.

I have teseted it on my local environment, I created a content pack and chare it to my colleague. He used it to create a report based on the dataset on that content pack. The report dataset will update by clicking the REFRESH button when the original data updated.

        Regards,
