Sharepoint Online List - Refresh
I hope I don't prevent others answering in the case I am off about this. This is what i understand.
Files stored on SharePoint online are auto refreshed. SharePoint Lists are an online source and hence are not auto refreshed but can be configured to refresh from Power BI
if keep up to date is off, it is because it is not available for some reason. Maybe there is no gateway. What is different about this dataset?
Hi Matt,
Many thanks for your response. So i presume that files stored on Sharepoint Online are 'auto refreshed' without the need for a pro licence? Therefore the scheuled refresh tab is set to off.
As for data on lists, they require either a manual intervation to refresh or a pro licence to configure a scheudle refresh, i.e. the schedule refresh tab set to on?
Theres nothing partiularly wrong about this dataset. I am a pro user and as such set the data sources up so that they had scheduled refreshes throughout the day. Most of our users however are free users and, as of last week as per the power-bi team's post - http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/bd-p/power-bi-web-app) they can no longer click 'cancel' and view the report. I have had to disable the scheduled refreshes as in order that the report does not containany pro features so that everyone can view them. If the excel/csv files refresh 'automatically' then that just leaves some data from online lists that i might have to manually refresh.
