Semantic Model update error

Hello!
I am having a recurring error when updating a semantic model that obtains its data from a dataflow. This error prevents the report from running and causes many problems. The error it returns is:

Please! Help me!

Thank you!

  • Hello!
After many tests, the problem was that the connection to the dataflows was made through a gateway cluster of a dataflow connection and should be Power BI dataflows.
Switching to a personal cloud connection fixes the issue.
Greetings and thanks for your help!

  • Hi dlomo_clb_24

Go to the Dataset refresh section and check if the Credentials are still active. You might need to sign in again

    Thanks

    Joe

      Hi Joe_Barry

It seems that the credentials are active. I have also checked this on gateways and other connections but it still gives the same error.

      Thanks for your help anyway.

  • Maybe open the PBIX again and check in the Data Source Options and Sign in there again. Try to refresh the Dataflow Table. If you don't get any  errors, re-publish the Report again.

That's what I've been doing for the last few days but it doesn't work.

The report is reloaded 4 times a day and I have to update it locally pointing to the dataflows and publish it again each time.

But I can't get the information to pass from the dataflows to the semantic model, because I always get the same error.

  • In the Power Bi Service go to Settings > Manage Connections and gateways > find the PowerPlatformDatflows connection > tick the circle green and open the setting for this. > Click on Edit credentials and sign in again if prompted.

      Hello Joe_Barry ,

Yes, I have done that too. I have even cleared the browser cache in case they had been saved incorrectly. This error is frustrating....

      Thanks for the help
